Candy Anne [2016]

by Wckr Spgt

Thirty years ago, Wckr Spgt recorded a song for their friend Anne McGuinness (nee Magdziarz), who worked at a local candy store called The Candy Bar. The song was written to commemorate Anne's 21st birthday and celebrate some of Candy Anne's unique qualities. And it did.

In honor of the 30th Anniversary of Candy Anne's 21st birthday, we have recorded a NEW version of "Candy Anne", updated musically and lyrically, using a layering technique reminiscent of the original and a groove that is strictly 21st Century Moderne.

Candy Anne continues to bring light and love into this world and we hope this song will reflect a little of that light back. Here's to you, Candy Anne! Happy birthday!

Oh, Anne is sweet, Anne is small.
She's the one that fed us all candy.

Married Erik then had Audrey.
She's the one in the top soil.
Anne. Candy Anne.

She knows how to have some fun
She just turned fifty one.
Oh, Candy Anne.

Used to run but now you walk
Dry erase pens replaced chalk

We were busy growing older
Thank god you didn't move to Boulder
Anne. Oh, Anne.

Not that Colorado's bad
Who are we to judge Colorado
Anne. Candy Anne.

You sometimes tend to overspend.
With cake mix, you don't over blend
Candy Anne.
